| Our Canadore College flight training program offers one course per year on a full time basis.
Each course begins the Tuesday after Labour Day and is completed by the end of April, allowing students to search for employment at a time when the helicopter industry is preparing for its busiest period.
As a student in our Flight Training Program, you can expect unparalleled instruction from some of the most experienced
instructors in the aviation industry. All our Instructors are Transport Canada authorized, and as such maintain the highest
standards of professional flying and instructional ability.
Ground school is a regular scheduled format in a modern well-equipped classroom located at the aviation campus.
Ground school is intensive and covers required aspects of helicopter operations. A variety of additional training components
includes:
- Helicopter landing pad construction
- Standard First Aid and CPR
- Chain Saw operation
- Winter Survival program
- Underwater Egress Training

Some of the courses require the applicants to be aware that they will be participating in strenuous physical activities.
All ground school and flight training will be provided by Transport Canada certified flight instructors and all Transport Canada flight tests and examinations will be administered by a representative of Transport Canada. A fleet of well equipped aircraft and a certified simulator will help you hone your skills.
Graduates from the program will receive a Transport Canada Commercial Helicopter Pilot License with endorsements on the Bell Jet Ranger and the Schweizer 300 helicopter, a Canadore College Pilot Preparedness Certificate and numerous Operational Certificates.
